Ella Wesly is a ceramic artist based in New York City and a member of Clay Space 1205 in Greenpoint in Brooklyn. Within the past year, she completed her Bachelors in Fine Arts with a joint degree in Pre-Professional Health. She focuses on creating installations comprising functional pieces in multiples that are curated within the space. Her work comes from an exploration of various cultures including her personal Dominican and Polish ancestry and international studies in Italy, China, and Poland. This most recent installation came from her time living near South Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains while she attended Clemson University and considered her reality of being a first-generation tri-cultural individual in the conservative southeast of America. She currently is completing an MA in Art Business at Sotheby’s Institute of Art and working at Sapar Contemporary Gallery in Tribeca.
